Day 1 Bellwork- 10 minutes
The sheet I had laying on their desk as they walked in. They are asked to come up with ten random facts about themselves.
Organization- 20 minutes
I will walk around the room with them to:
1. show them where to put their belongings- there will be a place for book bags, coats, and supplies.
2. Show them where to find extra supplies, pencil sharpener, work area, turn in papers, etc.
3. Come up with classroom rules as a class. Demonstrate good and bad of each, so they KNOW what the rule actually means. Ask for volunteers to help me make the classroom rules posters.
4. Go over daily schedule and routines we will follow.

Ice Breaker Games- 5 minutes
In a nutshell assignment-20 minutes
Using the ten facts they came up with during bell work, they will create an "in a nutshell" poster to present to the class. This will give them a chance to use their school supplies they have been waiting to use. They can communicate with each other during this time and I will play music while they work. Once they are finished with the posters they will present them to the class and the whole class will learn random facts about each other. I will present mine as well. This could run over to the next day as well.
