Letter To Parents
3/8/2015
Dear Parents,
I will be your son/daughter’s 4th grade science teacher this year! I am a graduate of Wright State University where I obtained both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. This will be my first year teaching and I am very excited to start this new journey with your child! In my free time I like to spend time with my family. I have a son of my own, so I also know the parent side of putting a child through school. I have always had a passion for teaching! Growing up I never thought about pursuing any other career! I can ensure you that I will always give 110% towards my students’ education. It is all about the kids in my eyes.
This year in science your child will be exploring some interesting topics! These include energy of objects and waves, molecules to organisms, Earth’s place in the universe, Earth’s systems, Earth and Human Activity, and experimental design. I love hands on activities and cooperative learning, so we will be doing a lot of this in my classroom. I will have my own web page on the school web site to keep everyone informed of what is going on in my classroom. I will post homework assignments on there as well, so you will know if your student has homework, or if they forget it at school, the assignment will be on my web page to print off. Important due dates, schedule changes, field trips, etc. will also be posted on my web page.
Your children will be involved in helping me run a safe and successful classroom. Their feedback is very important to me and so is yours! If you ever feel the need to contact me, please do. I have provided my information for you. I have an open door policy in my classroom. Your students can always come to me for any extra help with anything. You can also contact me with any questions or concerns at any time. I always try to answer within 24 hours of the email or voicemail. I call home for good and bad behavior, so if you see the school number pop up on your phone do not think the worst! I feel it is important to let parents know when their child is doing well in my classroom. Please join me at open house on Wednesday, August 20, 2015. This will give you a chance to ask whatever questions you may have before the school year. Hope to see you there! I look forward to meeting you!
Warm regards,
